Myrtle Freeman George, age 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2020. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Henry George; parents, Thomas Arthur Freeman and Nannie Ethel Freeman; as well as six brothers and sisters (Lewis, Neida, Harold, Lois, Evelyn and Cicero). She is survived by her son, Charles R. George; daughter, Marie and Ronald Myers; sister, Bertha Nutting; brother, Clive and June Freeman; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Buford, GA and sang with the Silvertones. She was also a former member of the Ash Street Baptist Church in Forest Park, GA. Funeral services will be on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA. Visitation will be Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. preceding the service. A graveside service will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro, GA.
