John Bernard “Bernie” Hojdila Jr. passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 following a sudden illness. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents John and Florence Ungarean Hojdila, his brother Gary Hojdila, and his beloved wife Deborah Hojdila.
Bernie was born in Monaca, Pennsylvania to John and Florence Hojdila and was a 1966 graduate of Monaca High School.
Bernie was a very dedicated family man who worked hard to provide in the steel mill, then at Quebacor printing in maintenance, and at Arrow Auto Auction. Following retirement, he continued working as a self employed locksmith (Locked Out?) and enjoyed helping people in the community.
He is survived by his sister FA Lewarchik, children Jennifer (Michael) Reed, Michael (Jacki) Hojdila, and Christine (Greg) Dalton and his grandchildren Spencer (Angela) Hojdila, Danielle Mick, Hunter (Baylie) Reed, Brooke Reed, Kendell Dalton, and Avery Dalton.
Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Calvin Maddox will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
