David Alan Dever

David Alan Dever, age 71, passed away while surrounded by loved ones and family on February 02, 2020 in Cumming, Georgia. Dave was born in Trenton, MI to Hosea Ray and Vivian Eileen on September 11, 1948. Dave was a loving husband, father, and Grampy. He spent nearly 40 years in the insurance industry as an experienced agent at EW Smith Insurance Agency in Michigan and later with his son in their family owned Dever Insurance Group office in Cumming. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran with service from March 1971 – April 1972. He also locally served as VVA Chaplain for the Cumming 1030 Chapter. Dave is preceded in death by his parents Hosea Ray and Vivian Eileen.

Survived by his wife, Colleen of Cumming, GA; daughter, Sara; son, Nate (Erin); granddaughter, Olivia; sister, Barbara Sturms; brother, Walt (Judy); brother, Dan; brother-in-law, Bill (Cindy); numerous nieces and nephews; and Brothers of Vietnam Veterans of America – Chapter 1030.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 8^th at 1:00pm, at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Nate Dever and Pastor Graham Arp. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, February 9^th from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
