Ben “Travis” Kelley, 83, of Cumming passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020. Travis was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed camping and discovering new places. He was a kind and straight-forward man who could negotiate a mean deal. A U.S. Army veteran, Travis was retired from the Gwinnett County Board of Education and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Kelley; parents, Judge David and Lula Kelley; several siblings and a son-in-law, Carlton Wilson.
Survivors include his daughters, Jan Wilson and Dawn (Ward) Duncan of Cumming; grandchildren, Brittany Bearden, Travis Wilson, Brittany O’Connell, Ansley Murray, Lillie Duncan and Reese Duncan; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Junior Kelley of Cumming, Donald Kelley of Arkansas, Charlotte Poole of Milton; sister-in-law, Margie Kelley of Cumming and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 5, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Bridgeman officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
