Arthur Mark Edward Thompson Jr.

Arthur Mark Edward Thompson Jr. age 66, of Oakwood, GA found eternal peace on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical center.

Arthur was born April 29, 1953 in Hartford Wisconsin to Arthur Mark Sr. and Harriet B (Kempfer) Thompson. He was united in marriage to Donna Mae Hartwig on October 27, 1973 at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Fondulac Wisconsin. After serving his country in the Army with a rank of E4 and being Honorably discharged, Arthur made his career in HVAC. Among being a hard worker and great provider, Artie never met a stranger and was always there to help people in need. He prided himself in family, which was what he cherished most. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and son.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Hartwig Thompson; his children, Tammy (Joshua) Hargate, Scott (Jessica) Thompson; dear grandchildren, Garrett, Olivia, Summer, Taylor, Tylor, and Madison; brothers and sisters, Roseanne (Kenneth) Kirchner, Christine (Bud) Zimmerman, April Thompson (wife of Ned), Timothy Thompson, Katheryn (Tom) Junger, Gerald Thompson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Mark Thompson Sr. and Harriet Kempfer Thompson; along with brother, Ned Thompson.

Art was a loving man who had great joy being a father to his children with his wife as a trophy by his side. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. "Go Pack Go"

Funeral Services for Arthur will be held on Saturday,  February 8th 1:00 pm at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church (2920 Landrum Education Dr. Oakwood GA 30566) with Fr. Robert Fessler officiating, with Military Honors.
