Mrs. Mary Frances Rumsey Howard, age 93 of Loden Road, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Clary Center.
A daughter of the late G.W. “Bud” Rumsey and Eula Price Rumsey, she was born November 9, 1926 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was retired from Coats and Clark, later worked with Aeroquip and a Realtor with Ingrid Lee Realty. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church having served as the pianist for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Howard in 1995.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Fredda and Bob Briggs of Jackson, Tennessee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Sheryl Howard and Tony and Holly Howard both of Toccoa; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Katherine Rumsey and Evelyn Thomason both of Toccoa and Hazel Jackson of Gainesville.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 1, 2020, 2 O’clock p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with The Reverend Roy Bainey and The Reverend Ken Jackson officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Zack Howard, Alan Edmonds, Rob Taylor, Rod Rumsey, Jeb Briggs and Matthew Briggs.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Flowers are to be omitted. Memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 1095 Ayersville Road, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mrs. Mary Frances Howard.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Mary Frances Rumsey Howard.
