Mrs. Mary R. Banks Black, age 71 of Mize Road, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.
A daughter of Claudine Turpin Fricks and the late Paul Banks, she was born December 16, 1948 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Toccoa. She was a retired business owner and homemaker for 25 years and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Calvin Black, Jr., sister, Sue Mullinax and brother, Clyde Fricks, Jr.
Survivors include her mother, Claudine Fricks of Toccoa; her husband of the home, Calvin Black; two daughters and son-in-law, Tina and Rex Holbrook of Toccoa and Teresa Black of Athens; two sons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kathy Black of Toccoa and Ken Black of Brooksville, Florida; grandchildren, Rex Holbrook Jr., Jonda and Daniel, Jesup Black, Chayce Black, Amanda Shackleford, Addie and Gatlin Black; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jerry Banks, Donnie Banks and Bruce Banks all of Toccoa and Eddy Fricks of Florence, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 25, 2020, 11 O’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Scott Collett officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jesup Black, Gatlin Black, Chayce Black, Richard Garner, Daniel Figueroa and Bradley Farmer.
The family will be at the home on Mize Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Gaines Chapel Cemetery, Hartwell, Georgia with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Mary R. Banks Black.
