Joan Corn Waters, 71, of Cumming passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Joan was a loving wife, mother and Nanny. A lifelong resident of Forsyth County, she attended Forsyth County High School where she was a cheerleader for 4 years and was Homecoming Queen. She was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church. Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Dean Corn and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Luther and Delsie Waters.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Billy Waters; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Jeff McBrayer; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Susan Waters, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Lindsey and Brandon Pruitt and Tyler McBrayer; great grandchildren, Austin McBrayer and Liam Pruitt; a sister, Sue Darnell of Dawsonville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 25, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Martin, Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
