Mitchell Kegan Brett

Obituary Date: Friday, January 17, 2020

Mr. Mitchell Kegan Brett, age 26, of Flowery Branch passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Braselton.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2020 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Father Eric Hill will officiate.  The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mitchell Kegan Brett was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 8th, 1993, to Craig Steven Brett and Sarah Jane Brett.  He was baptized at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Charlotte and confirmed at St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville, NC.  Mitchell graduated from Flowery Branch High School in 2011. He then attended Georgia Southern University and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2017.

“Life is Better When You are Laughing” is a quote that he loved and lived by. 

Mitchell’s sense of humor, smile and laughter were contagious.  He was a gentle giant who had a big heart and a kind soul. His fierce love of family and his faith will be his legacy.

Mitchell worked at Chateau Elan Winery and Resort in Braselton, GA.  He was blessed to work with his “Paddy’s Pub” family. He had a multitude of friends and loyal patrons.

Mitchell is survived his parents, Craig & Sarah Brett of Flowery Branch; brothers, Steven Brett of Atlanta and Joey Brett of Flowery Branch; sister, Lauren Brett of Marietta; aunts & uncles, Jane (Brent) Bagley of Sauk Rapids, MN, Suzanne (Benny) Creed of Marietta, Daniel (Robin) Aarhus of Benson, MN, Scott (Penny) Brett of Huntersville, NC, Gary (Luzma) Brett of Charlotte, NC, and Shelley (Kevin) Hawk of Rock Hill, SC; grandfathers, Gerald Aarhus of Danvers, MN and Larry Brett of Rock Hill, South Carolina; and not to forget his Loyal and Loving Blue Heeler, Hank.  He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Harriett E. Aarhus and Coral J. Brett; and uncle, Darrell Brett.

The family gratefully acknowledges your attendance and many kind expressions of sympathy, and invite you to join them for lunch after the interment.
