Mr. Joshua “Josh” Matthew Canady, age 37 of Defoor Road, Toccoa passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 in Habersham County.
A son of Melissa Simmons Canady and the late Dan Canady, he was born July 19, 1982 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived most of his life. He was employed with Townsend Company and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed drag racing and side by side trail riding. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfathers, C.D. Simmons and David Canady.
Survivors include his mother, Melissa Simmons Canady of Toccoa; two daughters, Zealee Canady and Chloe Canady both of Toccoa; son, Maverick Canady of Mt. Airy; brothers and sister-in-law, Dustin and Sebrina Canady and Clint Canady both of Eastanollee; grandmothers, Pat Simmons of Toccoa and Zelpha Canady of Carnesville; uncle and aunt, Bucky and Stephanie Simmons of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 25, 2020, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend William Blackie officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Kris Adams, Charlie Dale, Josh Mitchell, Dustin Canady, Ian Sertain and Juan Menjivar.
The family will be at the home on Defoor Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Joshua “Josh” Matthew Canady.
