Rosa Mae Haygood

Mrs. Rosa Mae Haygood, age 89, of Suches, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

Mrs. Haygood was born in Suches on December 7, 1930 to the late Sherman David and Theressa Mae Anderson Stover.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Haygood; daughter Ruth Shiflett; brothers Sidney Stover, John Stover, Sherman Stover, Billy Stover, Herman Stover and James Stover; sisters Ruby Nevell, Mary Garrett, and Mattie Daily.  Mrs. Haygood was a loving mother and grandmother.  She was a member of Harmony Church of God.

Survivors include her children Michael Fitzpatrick, Stephen Fitzpatrick, and Carolyn Shiflett; sisters Edna Griffis, Eva Nell Pruitt, and Carolyn Ray; and brother M.J. Stover; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.  Mrs. Haygood will lie in state at the church from 11:30 AM until the hour of the funeral.  The Rev. Derrick Pruitt and Dr. Don Pruitt will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
