John Glenn Sewell

Mr. John Glenn Sewell, age 55 of Falls Road, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A son of the late Guy and Marie Ferris Sewell, he was born May 31, 1964 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived all his life in Stephens County. Prior to his illness, he was employed with Mega Motor Sports. He loved fishing and traveling. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a hard worker and loved his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Sewell and by two sisters, Linda Elrod and Deborah Bowman.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Buchanan Sewell of Anderson, South Carolina; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Tanya Sewell of Starr, South Carolina; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and David Moye of Pelham, Georgia and Donna and Frank Wigley of Toccoa; brother-in-law, Reverend Aaron Elrod of Toccoa; sister-in-law, Recca Sewell of Lavonia; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 18, 2020, 11 O’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Aaron Elrod officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Shane Lawson, Timmy Lawson, Robert Elrod, Allen Lawson, Ryan Matthews and Daniel Wigley.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Toccoa-Stephens County Humane Shelter, P.O. Box 2182, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mr. John Glenn Sewell.

Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. John Glenn Sewell.
