Tommy Mason Turner

Tommy Mason Turner, age 83 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020.

Mr. Turner was born on May 17, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Grady and Jerrine Adamson Turner.  He began farming in 1971 and continued until just a few months ago and retired in 1991 from Lucent Technologies, formerly AT&T.  Tommy was also a veteran of the National Guard.  In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his brother, Grady Turner.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nancy Turner, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Dee Turner, Dahlonega; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Margaret Turner, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Marsha Turner, Gainesville; grandchildren, Justin Turner and Kayla Turner; brother, Richard Turner, Royston; sisters, Harriet McGinn, Gainesville, and Janice Wayte, Forrest Park. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dee Turner, daughter-in-law, for her exceptional round the clock care of Tommy.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Michael Wilkes will officiate.  Interment will follow at Gateway Memory Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
