Annie Mae Nix

Mrs. Annie Mae Nix, 79, of Maysville passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Pirkle officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Born on April 14, 1940 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Dorothy Ellis Freeman. She and her husband, Jewell owned and operated Nix Grocery in Gainesville. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nix is preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence Freeman, Crawford Freeman; sister, Louise Garrison and brother in law, Pat Hulsey.

Mrs. Nix is survived by her husband, Jewell Nix of Maysville; daughters, Debra Gee (Gary) of Gillsville, Patty Roberts (Ronald) of Maysville, Jenna Grice (Joel Buffington) of Maysville; sister, Elizabeth Winkles; grandchildren, Sheri Skelton (Todd), Timmy Gee (Brooke), Keri Turner (Matt), Bailey Grice, Jay Grice, Kinsey Grice; great-grandchildren, Spencer Skelton, Samuel Skelton, Trent Gee, Sawyer Skelton, Luke Turner and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family is grateful that they were able to honor Annie Mae’s wishes to care for her at home by her bedside during her last days and a special thanks to Shirrie Kinsey for being there to help us.
