Emma “Claudean” Abraham

Emma “Claudean” Abraham, 86, of Wildwood, Florida passed away December 28, 2019 in the Villages, Florida. Claudean was born on March 18, 1933 in Gainesville, Georgia to Jasper Elmer and Emma Margaret (Tankersley) Gaddis. Claudean married Thomas Eugene Rider on July 17, 1949 and he passed away on February 12, 1991. Claudean then married William Abraham on May 14, 1993.

Claudean worked as a retail clerk in clothing stores for a big part of her working career. Claudean worked at Burtons in Gainesville for over 20 years. Claudean was a volunteer for Leesburg Regional Medical Center for 24 years. She was very close to the ladies she worked with at the hospital.

Claudean is survived by her husband Willie, daughters Elizabeth C. (Barry) Stephens of Braselton, GA., Patricia (William) Elrod of Jefferson GA., Gail (Elwin) Sheridan of Gainesville, GA., grandchildren; Chris, Craig, Stacy, Michelle, Michael, Matt, Kenzie, twelve great-grandchildren; step-sons; William G. (Clair) Abraham of Sterling Heights, MI., Mark J. (Alice) Abraham of McComb Cove, MI., Kenneth R. Abraham of Royal Oak, MI., step-grandchildren Regina, James, Christopher, Scott and nine step-great grandchildren.

There was a funeral service at the First Baptist Church of Coleman, Florida on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 3PM. There will be a service at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2020 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA. with burial at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA. Rev. David Sosebee, Rev. Clack Stubbs and Rev. Richard Parks will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
