Hershel F. Frazier

Hershel F. Frazier, age 85, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on December 23, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years: Sylvia Frazier; children: Bridget Susan Frazier of Crawfordville, FL and Michael Stanley Frazier (Kathy) of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren: Hilary Gill (Jeff) of Tallahassee, FL, Elizabeth Beauchamp (Michael) of Crawfordville, FL, Ryan Rivers of Illinois and Karle Frazier of Illinois; and great grandchildren: Charlie Harrison, Cayla Harrison and Elijah Beauchamp.  Hershel was raised in Adamsville, Georgia and was the son of Mack and Julia Frazier. He was one of eleven children (Hannah, Furman, Frances, Judy, Olin, Sarah, Virgil, Elaine, Theresa and Sherry). 

He was an employee of the Bureau of Prisons in Tallahassee, FL for 25 years and earned many awards where he built an unparalleled vocational training program. In 1982, he was selected as the recipient of the Sanford Bates Award.  Hershel was a skilled craftsman who could build and fix anything. Every opportunity, he would visit Saint George Island and the Saint Marks Lighthouse in Florida. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, hiking, reading, and had a love for music.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 27, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home.
