Mrs. Sara Chatham Thomason, age 80 of Herald Drive, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Hoyt and Ruby Cole Chatham, she was born February 18, 1939 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was retired from Coats and Clark with 28 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening and her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Thomason, by a son, John Rickey Thomason and by five siblings, Mary Howard, Eloise Chatham, Gartrell Chatham, Jewell Chatham and Ed Chatham.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Thomason of Toccoa; granddaughter, Jordan Simmons; two sisters, Loutrell Adams and Patsy Norris both of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 21, 2019, 11 O’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Grover Wilson officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Wesley Smith, Jason Smith, Roger Adams, Dennis Chatham, David Howard and James Thomason.
The family will be at the home on Herald Drive and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Interment will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Sara Chatham Thomason.
