Mr. Kelly David Stephens, age 50 of Duluth passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Northside Hospital Duluth.
A son of Linda Lawson Stephens Berry and the late Kenneth Stephens, he was born August 7, 1969 in Atlanta, Georgia where he lived most of his life. He was a graduate of Greene County High School in Greensboro, Georgia and a graduate of Georgia Southern University in 1992. He was a devoted fraternity brother of Sigma Nu. He owned and operated Shane’s Rib Shack for 10 years in Norcross and later opened his catering business, Catering Concepts in Duluth. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Union Point, Georgia. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Stephens and by his grandparents, Clyde and Pauline Lawson and Hoyt and Ressie Stephens.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Linda Lawson Stephens Berry and husband Millard of Athens, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Sandy and Ronda Stephens of Eastanollee; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his business partner, Amy Busby of Duluth.
Kelly was a fun-loving person who enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an avid fan of the Braves, Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs. His enjoyments were music, trivia, cooking and making everyone happy- always being the “Life of the Party”. Kelly was loved by his family and his many friends. It gives us comfort to know that he gives the GIFT OF LIFE to others as a donor so he will live on.
Memorial service will be Saturday, December 21, 2019, 3 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Art Conway officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service, 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The family will be at the home of Chad and Christy Andrews, 1262 Buena Vista Drive, Toccoa.
Flowers are to be omitted. Memorials may be made to Beech Haven Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2390 West Broad Street, Athens, Georgia 30606 in memory of Mr. Kelly David Stephens.
