Lessie Crane Pethel

Mrs. Lessie Crane Pethel, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on December 8, 2019. Lessie left a legacy of 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is joining in heaven her beloved husband of 69 years, Reverend Austin Pethel.

Lessie was born in Cleveland, Georgia to William and Mattie Crane. She was born the twin of Lloyd Crane. She married Austin in August 1943. She lived her life serving the Lord with her Reverend husband. She loved playing the piano, spending time with her family and friends, serving her many church families, cooking her famous biscuits and was always dressed to impress. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Ernest, Hoyt, Calvin, Lloyd, Barnett, Mary and Bonnie. Her parents, William and Mattie and her husband, Reverend Austin Pethel.

She is survived by her 3 children, Pat Sisk (Scottye), Becky Keith and Danny Pethel, her grandchildren, Scottye Sisk Jr. (Tonya), Stuart Sisk (Heidi), Stephen Sisk (Charlotte), Kevin Pethel (Joanna), Krista Martin (Tommy), Kelly Hardeman (Larry) and Kacey Bell (Reed). Also surviving are seventeen great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Officiating the service are Larry Allison, Robert Nix, Mark Hutchins and Matthew Vandegriff.

Visitation is at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, 12/11 and Thursday, 12/12 at 1PM-3PM and 6PM-8PM. The service will be at Pilgrim Baptist Church on Friday, 12/13 at 11AM. Entombment at Memorial Park Mausoleum.  Pallbearers will be, Stephen Sisk, Scottye Sisk, Stuart Sisk, Reed Bell, Larry Hardeman, Tommy Martin, Kevin Pethel, Taylor Sisk, Collier Sisk, Dalton Pethel and Jaxson Hardeman.
