Rev. Henry Thomas "Tommy" Norris

Rev. Henry Thomas “Tommy” Norris, age 75 of Crawford Circle, Toccoa passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A son of the late Willie and Omie Nations Norris, he was born April 12, 1944 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens County. He owned and operated Norris’s Paint and Body Shop. He was the lead guitarist for the Norris Family Singers for some 20 years, an Evangelist and a member of Beulah Land Outreach Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Shirley, grandson, Wesley Norris and by a brother, John Norris.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Ruby Pless Norris; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Tony Headen of Eastanollee and Becky Shirley and Will Inman of Toccoa; sons and daughters-in-law, Stoney and Teresa Norris of Royston and David and Lorene Norris of Danielsville; daughter-in-law, Donna Shirley of Toccoa; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Manley of Blue Ridge, South Carolina and Wanda Patton of Greer, South Carolina.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 10, 2019, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Bill Trotter and The Reverend Carl King officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Casey Shirley, Stanley Norris, Steven Norris, Halston Henderson, Hadon Henderson and Will Inman. Other grandchildren will service as honorary escort.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday, 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from noon until the service time. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
