Joyce Parks

Joyce Parks, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday December 3, 2019 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born May 27, 1934 to the late Farland Jacob and Thelma Alice Padgett, Joyce lived a number of years in Lawrenceville and Marietta before returning to Dawson County 35 years ago.  A charter member of Trinity Baptist Church, Joyce worked as a homemaker throughout her life and was extremely devoted to her family.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Padgett.

Surviving are her husband, Hub Parks, Dawsonville; sons and daughters in law, Dennis K. Parks, Jacksonville, FL, Lonnie C. and Kathy Parks, White, GA, Hubert Clay and Libby Parks, Somerset, KY; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren; sisters and brother in law, Shirley and Woodrow Wilson, Dawsonville, Frances and Les Pethrick, Marietta; brothers and sisters in law, Max and Daisy Padgett, Dawsonville, Ray and Diane Padgett, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday December 6, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church.  Rev. Scott Christopher will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday December 5 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
