Bobby Turner

Bobby Turner, 79, a lifelong resident of Cumming passed away Friday, November 22, 2019.  Bobby had a very big personality and was always charming.  He loved his Tennessee Walking Horses, his baby colts and particularly Angel’s Datsun, Dandy and Lady.  Bobby had a fascination with everything “cowboy”…Wrangler jeans (always pressed and creased), western shirts, belt, boots and hat.  As horse trainer, come showtime it was English all the way.  Bobby loved western movies and shows; Matt Dillon of Gunsmoke and The Rifle Man with Chuck Connors. He also enjoyed car racing, red Ford trucks and John Deere tractors. Bobby was not a football fan but, if he was, his team would have been the Dallas Cowboys.  He loved rib-eye steaks (it must be grain fed…never grass), cake without frosting, Snickers candy bars and vanilla ice cream. When eating salad, leave off the cucumbers, else it would ruin the whole salad.  Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, W.B. and Grace Turner, a granddaughter, Heather Turner and his sisters, Elizabeth Hamby, Sue Gravitt and Mary Jo Styles.

Survivors include his life-mate, Peggy McGehee; children, Deborah Gee, Terry Turner, Karen Friedman and Lorraine Lovell; grandchildren, Chastity Shanahan, Michaelyn Jones, Joe Friedman, Seth Friedman and Tiffany Lovell; and his great grandchildren, Benjamin Dempsey, Jack Shanahan and Piper Jones as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 24, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Bottoms and Rev. Danny Ray Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
