Theodore R. McAllister

Theodore R. McAllister, age 59, of Duluth, GA passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Autumn.  Ted is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Maria Sheridan McAllister, Duluth, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Alicia McAllister, Auburn, GA, Alex McAllister, Duluth, GA; grandchildren, Haylie, Elijah, Grayson, Rylee, Tucker, Chace; and great granddaughter, Evangeline.  He was born on March 14, 1960 in Salem, NJ.  Ted was a 1978 graduate of Penns Grove High School in Penns Grove, NJ and a 1993 graduate of the University of Tennessee where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Ted was a husband, father, pop-pop and great father.  He loved his family and especially being “pop pop” to all the children. He loved reading, researching his various interests, predicting the weather, fishing and helping others.  Ted dedicated his life to helping people turn their lives around.  He was the owner of Haven Homes Recovery Home for men in Atlanta from 2005-2016.  Currently, in addition to working on a project for those who are recovering from PTSD, Ted was a counselor for the State of Georgia Department of Community Supervision in Forsyth County.  Ted is forever loved and will always be missed dearly. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2019 at Flanigan Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Debra Walters officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MARR Metro Atlanta Recovery Residence, 2815 Clearview Place, Doraville, GA 30340 in memory of Theodore R. McAllister.
