Patricia “Pat” McBrayer Heaton Timms

Mrs. Patricia “Pat” McBrayer Heaton Timms, age 94 of Shady Lane, Toccoa passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at The Clary Center.

The daughter of the late Mary L. McBrayer, she was born May 11, 1925 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was a graduate of Lavonia City High School, Toccoa Falls College and attended Clemson University. She was one of the first women licensed as a CPA in the State and owned and operated her accounting business in Toccoa for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Toccoa, a former Sunday School Teacher of the Gleaner’s Class and the Adult 3 Class. She was a Trustee Emeritus of the Church and was chosen Woman of the Year at First Baptist. Over the years, she served on the Board of Directors for Victory Home, Truett-McConnell College and the Toccoa-Stephens County Library where she was an Advocate for Literacy. She was a Trustee and served on the President’s Advisory Council for Toccoa Falls College. She was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Boy Scouts of the Northeast Georgia Council.

She was a member of the Toccoa Symphony and a former member of the Toccoa Lions Club. She was a wedding coordinator for many years. Her interest in philanthropy carried over many years in giving to churches and missions. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Flay Heaton and William I. Timms.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Bob and Ramona Glore and family, Wayne and Nancy Colston, Frank and Teresa Dean and family, Ruel and Barbara Elliott; cousins, Joe and Susan Riley and Family, Mary Myers and Family and John O’Kelley; children of William I. Timms, Billy and Debbie Timms and Family and David and Martha Timms and Family.

A special thanks to her caregivers and to the staff of The Clary Center.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 19, 2 O’clock p.m. at the First Baptist Church with The The Reverend David Ritcey, The Reverend Dr. Henry Fields and The Reverend Brett Sanders officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Dean Glore, Joe Riley, Chris Myers, Jordan Myers, Joe Riley, Jr., Matt Riley, Andrew Riley and Brett Riley.

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Chapel on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the service time.

Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Youth Group, 475 E. Tugalo Street, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Heaton Timms.

Interment will follow in the Lavonia City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Heaton Timms.
