Helen Elizabeth Butler, 85, of Gainesville passed away peacefully on Saturday November 16, 2019 following an extended illness.
Born on May 12, 1934 in Commerce, Georgia, Mrs. Butler was the seventh of eight children of Ola Mae and Boyd Standridge. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Bill Butler, her parents, her brothers Wayne Standridge, Jess Standridge and Robert Standridge, and her sisters and brothers-in-law Elease and Pete Crow, Hazel and F.M. Head, Doris and Thomas Chambers.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jessica Butler, daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Pablo Colombini, and grandchildren Mae Butler, Luca Colombini and Nico Colombini.
She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Jean and Gerald Fields, sisters-in-law Betty Butler and Hazel Barnes, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Mrs. Butler grew up in Clermont, Georgia, and graduated from Clermont High School. She spent most of her career working at First National Bank, where she was a familiar face in the main branch. She was a member of First Baptist and was a member of the Elks Aidmore Society for many years.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, the Chapel at First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church parlor.
