Joe B. Fannon, age 90, of Lilburn, GA passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Farah K. “Tommie” Fannon; parents, Emmett Dwight and Venus Robinette Fannon; brother, Jack Fannon. Joe is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Nancy, Macon, GA, Rob and Minta Fannon, Kingsport, TN; daughters and son-in-law, Pam and Chris Barber, Hoschton, GA, Susan Keith, Lilburn, GA; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Jean Fannon, Duffield, VA; sisters, June Fannon, Duffield, VA, Mary Allen, Newport News, VA; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Joe was born September 29, 1929 in Duffield, VA. He was a faithful Christian, serving as a deacon for many years, and a member of Johns Creek Baptist Church. Joe had a lifelong fascination with trains, from old steam engines to H.D. Models. He loved to travel with his wife, Tommie of forty-eight years, and had a lap that could calm any child. Joe always had a smile and never met a stranger. Joe and his winning smiles and corny jokes will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 7:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. David White officiating. Interment will be at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7th at the funeral home.
