Robert E. McJunkin, age 91, of Snellville, Georgia formerly of Alto, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019.
Mr. McJunkin was born on January 25, 1928 in Mississippi to the late Rev. James Eugene McJunkin, of Houlka, Mississippi and Mary Sue Houston McJunkin, of Mississippi. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Virginia McJunkin and step-daughter, Sara Jaunita Smith Melton, of Alto; infant twin brother; brothers, Eugene Houston McJunkin, of Satesvillle, NC and William "Bill" Davis McJunkin, Marietta, GA; niece, Jane Ellen Homer, of Columbus, IN. Mr. McJunkin was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Marines. He was a Special Education Instructor within the Georgia State Prison System serving at Lee Arrendale State Prison with several decades of service. Robert was a very loving husband, father, brother, and uncle.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Hilda Smith McJunkin, of Snellville, formerly of Alto, GA; sister-in-law, Margaret McJunkin, of Marietta, GA; nephews, James Eugene McJunkin, of Delaware Water Gap, PA; John Houston McJunkin, of Huntersville, NC; William Davis McJunkin, Jr., of Denver, CO.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the Baldwin City Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Calvert officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Houlka, Mississippi.
