Ray “Ike” Newton Murphy

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Ray “Ike” Newton Murphy, age 67 of Maysville, Georgia who entered into rest Saturday, November 2, 2019.  Mr. Murphy was born in Jefferson, Georgia a son of the late Oscar Newton Murphy and the late Lela Ethell Morris Murphy and was retired from United Poultry.  In addition to his parents Mr. Murphy is preceded by a brother Johnny Murphy.

Mr. Murphy is survived by children, Beverly Lance of Commerce, David Murphy of Florida, Scotty Murphy of Pendergrass, and Whitney Murphy of Cornelia.

Sister, Emma Reed of Maysville, brother, Gene Murphy of Pendergrass, brother, Paul Murphy of Homer, and sister, Betty Adams of Pendergrass.  Several grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from the Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 9:00 - 10:30 A.M. prior to the service.
