Ophelia Stowers Marmee, 83, of Lula passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Ashton Senior Living.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2019 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Newbern officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Born on February 18, 1936 in Dawsonville, GA she was the daughter of the late Hugh Boyd and Inez Gober Stowers. She was retired from Lucent Technologies where she was a supervisor. Mrs. Marmee was a member of Journey Church of Hall County.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marmee is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Marmee; son, Tommy Crumley; daughter, Carol Crumley; brother and sister in law Elton and Mildred Stowers; brother, Benny Stowers; first husband, Raymon Crumley and second husband, Harrell Headrick.
Mrs. Marmee is survived by her daughter and son in law, Norma Jean and Ron Cain of Lula; brother and sister in law, Fred and Drucilla Stowers of Dawsonville; brother, Hugh Stowers, Jr. of Dawsonville; sister and brother in law, Evelyn and Clark Castleberry of Cumming; brother and sister in law, Riley and Randhye Stowers of Columbia, MO; brother, Mel Stowers of Kennesaw; brother and sister in law, Frank and Leeann Stowers of Dawsonville; sister in law, Hazel Stowers of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Thomas and Suzanne Jones of Gainesville, Norah and Chad Seymour of Gainesville; step-grandchildren, Trevor and Holly Cain of Ellijay, Trisha and Dusty Hulsey of Gainesville, Tressa and Farz Kadkhodaian of Cumming and a number of great-grandchildren and other relatives.
