Lena Maynard Burnette, age 81, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, E. J. Burnette; parents, Evelyn Parker Cain and Bill Cain; brother, Eugene Maynard; and son-in-law, Norman Ramey. She is survived by her six children; David and Delphia Burnette, Cleveland, GA, Marie Ramey, Gainesville, GA; Patricia and Earnesto Alvarez, Spartanburg, SC, Cindy and Randy Richards, Canton, GA, Wanda and Matthew Grissom, Buford, GA, Callie and Michael Jones, Dahlonega, GA; eighteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; brother, Billy Cain, Dahlonega, GA; aunt, Ruby Parker, Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Burnette was born on April 16, 1938 in Gwinnett County, GA. She was a homemaker and a member of the Shoal Creek Baptist Church for fifty-three years. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at the Shoal Creek Baptist Church, Buford, GA with Rev. Jerry Crocker, Rev. Lynn Land, and Rev. Randy Richards officiating.
Interment will follow at the Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 27th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, October 28th from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home.
