After a courageous and lengthy battle against cancer, Linda Gail Thomason passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 26, 2019. Linda’s wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service is being planned for a later date which will be held at her home church, The Chattahoochee Methodist Church in Robertstown/Helen Georgia.
Linda was born and raised in Robertstown, Georgia where she resided until moving to Gainesville in 2017. She attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia where she received her Bachelor of Art degree. Linda was currently retired. She worked in the legal field after obtaining her degree and was with the Hall County District Attorney’s office for over twenty years.
Linda is predeceased by her grandparents Jesse G. and Tattie Abernathy, mother, Murrell Abernathy Thomason; brother, Gordon (Buck) Thomason; father, Otis Thomason, along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and family members. She is survived by her uncle William Curtis Abernathy (Bill) of Denver, Colorado, and a multitude of cousins, beloved grand-cousins and close friends.
Linda will be remembered as an avid reader of all subjects, typically having two or three books going at one time; as well as her giving and caring nature, and true friendship to all she met. Her courage and determination throughout her life and her battle with cancer far exceeds what any other could attain. We are blessed to have had her as our family and friend.
Memorial donations may be made to “Chattahoochee Methodist Church” PO Box 994, Helen, GA 30545, in her memory.
