John Michael Forrestall

Mr. John Michael Forrestall, age 80, of Hoschton passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Braselton, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2019 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Father Jorge Carranza will officiate.  The family will receive friends 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2019 at the church.

Mr. Forrestall was born July 24, 1939 to the late Walter James & Alice Violet Forrestall in Boston, Massachusetts.  He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where he was an Alpha Instructor mentor for the youth, chairman of the Finance Council, president of the Forever Young Group/POP Seniors and member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was also a member of the Kiwanis of Buford, where he was past president; and he was a past Lieutenant Governor for the State Kiwanis.  The founding owner of Forrestall CPAs, Mr. Forrestall was a board member for Georgia Society of CPAs.  He was also a past board member for Habitat of Humanity for both Hall and Barrow Counties and an avid volunteer for Meals on Wheels for over 20 years.

Mr. Forrestall is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, David & Allis Forrestall of Birmingham, Alabama; son, Jeff Forrestall of Braselton; daughter & son-in-law, Pam & Craig Roper of Marietta; 10 grandchildren; and sister, Arlene Simoneaux.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Rachel Forrestall; parents; and brother, Walter James Forrestall, Jr.
