John Calvin Ledford, age 87 of Dahlonega, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
Mr. Ledford was born on March 15, 1932, in Jackson County, to the late Fredrick and Emma Elizabeth Smith Ledford. He worked as a self-employed chicken farmer and was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Ledford was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ledford is preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Ledford, sister, Ruth Shelton, brothers, Bob, Luther, Jack, Fredrick, Jimmy, and Richard Ledford.
Survivors include his sons, Jerry Ledford and Wayne Ledford; daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Arthur Fitts and Wanda and Doug Caldwell; grandchildren, April Caldwell, Ken Caldwell, Victor Ledford, Devin Ledford, Misty Ledford, and Kyle Fitts; great-grandchildren, Clay Burnett, Katherine Brock, Denae Brock, Alyssa Caldwell, Kaylee Caldwell, and Zoe Caldwell; sister-in-law, Susie Ledford; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Town Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Darin Cain, the Rev. Phillip Robinson and the Rev. Kris Butler will officiate. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the funeral home.
