James Davis

Mr. James Barney “J.B.” Davis, age 78, of Dahlonega passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019.

Mr. Davis was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County.  He was born on November 14, 1940 to the late James Wesley and Eva Mae Moose Davis.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Louise Davis; brothers Claude Davis, Homer Davis, and Arvil Davis; sisters Lillie Mae Peters and Elizabeth Edenfield .  Mr. Davis was a retired auto mechanic and loved going fishing.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-laws James Edward and Tammy Davis, Cleveland, and Anthony and June Davis, Dahlonega; daughter Lynn Davis Garner, Dahlonega; grandchildren Shannon Davis, Shawn and Kristen Smith, Jamie and Brook Davis, Michael Davis, Alisha and Matt Allen, Casey and Katee Davis, and Jacob Davis; 15 great-grandchildren.     

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, October 21, 2019 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.  The Rev. Marty Murphy will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Davis’ wishes were to be cremated after the service.
