George Thomas Sanders, age 83 of Maysville, GA passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019 at his residence.
Born on March 25, 1936 in Butts Co., Mr. Sanders is the son of the late Grant George and Gussie Lou Strickland Sanders. He was the widower of Shirley Ann Brumbelow Sanders, a brick mason, and is preceded in death by a son, George Buddy Sanders.
Survivors include sons, David Sanders, Jefferson, Joey (Mary Ann) Sanders, Bethlehem, Roy Sanders, Arcade, Mark (Christy) Sanders, Jefferson; daughters, Vickie Sanders, Commerce, Darlene Sanders, Maysville, Faye (Vernon) Pearson, Monroe, Tammy Williams, Indiana; brother, Kenneth Sanders, Lavonia; sister, Rose Archer, Jefferson; 29 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 71 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 4 pm Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019 at Cave Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Bo Whisnant and Rev. Charles Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state 1PM until time of the service Sunday at the church.
