Mr. Carl E. Alexander, age 73, of Braselton passed away Monday, October 14, 2019 at Landmark Hospital in Athens, surrounded by family.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2019 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Rev. Marvin M. Mason will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mr. Alexander was born December 15, 1945 to the late John D. & Elizabeth Mae Alexander in Bowden, Georgia. A United States Army Veteran, he was a retired Fire Captain for DeKalb County, where he served for 26 years. Mr. Alexander had an Associates Degree in Fire Sciences and enjoyed playing golf, farming, fishing and camping.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda B. Alexander of Braselton; son, Jason Alexander of Palmetto; daughter & son-in-law, Carla & Alan Howard of Hoschton; granddaughter & husband, Chelsea & Cody Wilson; step-grandchildren, Sarah Howard and Megan Howard; brother, Douglas Alexander; nephew, Steve Marlow and several great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Megan Alexander; parents; and sister, Melba Loyd.
