Gemanie Tanner

Gemanie Tanner, born in Murrayville, Ga on August 28, 1920 to the late Melvin Austin and Alfie Daniel Austin. She departed this life on Sunday October 6, 2019 after an extended illness. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Tanner; Four sons Melvin Joe Tanner, Billy Ray Tanner, Jerry Tanner, and Michael Tanner; sister Geneva Jones; brother June Austin. She was employed with Morgan Laundry for over 60 years. She was an active member at New Salem Baptist Church. Before she became ill she enjoyed attending The Senior Life Center, playing bingo and doing work search puzzles. Gemanie leaves to cherish three daughters, Linda (Bobby) Harrison of Gainesville, GA, Barabra Elaine Tanner of Gainesville, GA, Ruth Harris of Winder, GA; son John (Adell) Tanner of Baltimore, MD. Sister in Law Mrs. Bernice Austin of Gainesville, GA. 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren. Special nieces, Theresa Hester, Mary Johnson, and Lizzie Bell Jones; Special friend Betty Dukes.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at New Salem Baptist Church at 1:00 PM. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
