Rev. Curtis Wayne Conley, age 80 of Cornelia, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 05, 2019.
Born in Athens, Georgia on September 08, 1939, he was a son of the late George W. & Ruby Patterson Conley. Wayne served his country proudly in the United States Army as a military police officer during the Vietnam War Era. He was an entrepreneur of many business ventures over the years including WayneCo. Industries. Together with his loving wife Janice, they founded The House of Prayer Ministries in 1978. Wayne enjoyed mentoring young people throughout the years, the Coffee Club at the Cornelia McDonalds, trips to the beach, serving as an auctioneer, and spending time with his grandchildren. Most of all, he loved his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. In his last years of ministry, Wayne, with his servant’s heart, spent time encouraging the staff and residents of Habersham Home East.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hannah Nicholson Gabrels, sisters, Hazel Stubbs & Debbie Coker; and brother, Doug Conley.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Janice Elaine Adams Conley of Cornelia, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Kim & Rex Gallups of Alpharetta, GA; Kathy Conley Nicholson of Cleveland, GA; Jenny & Chris Blalock of Demorest, GA; son & daughter-in-law, Rev. John Wayne & Theresa Conley of Mt. Airy, GA; grandchildren, Mitch & Mareike Gallups; Matt Gallups; Elizabeth Gallups; Kara Nicholson; Andrew Nicholson; Rachel Kimbrell; Rebekah & Mason Murray; Austin Blalock; Sarah Kimbrell; Joanna Kimbrell; Abby Kimbrell; John Paul Conley; Faith Conley; John Timothy Conley; great-grandchildren, Preston Gallups, Chayenne Traver, Logan Gallups, & Arabella Nicholson Carl; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 09, 2019 at The House of Prayer Ministries in Mt. Airy with Rev. John Wayne Conley & Rev. Kathy Conley Nicholson officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
