Elaine Sexton Joy

Elaine Sexton Joy age 64 of Oakwood passed away Saturday Oct. 5, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Elaine was born Oct. 20, 1954 in Gainesville to Helen Watson Capps & the late Grady Sexton. She was a former apartment manager at Cedar Springs and Cedar Ridge Apartments. She most recently worked at Eckerd Drugs at Sherwood in Gainesville as an assistant manager. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Survivors include, mother, Helen Watson Capps of Oakwood; sons & spouses, Dewayne & Julie Joy of Hoschton & Dwight & Sue Joy of Gainesville; brothers, Stanley Sexton, Danny Sexton both of Gainesville, David Sexton of Alabama, Ivy Capps of Florida and Larry Sexton of Rome, Georgia; grandchildren, Alyssa Joy, Jackson Joy, Emma Kate Joy, Owen Joy, Noah Joy, Hunter Holland & Silas Joy.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Reed, Mr. Dewayne Joy & Rev. Dwight Joy officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1p.m. until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
