Dannie Joe Poole

Dannie Joe Poole age 90 of Gillsville passed away Saturday Oct. 5, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Poole was born April 30, 1929 in Gainesville to the late Marcus Andrew & Myrtle Lee Poole. Mr. Poole was self-employed as a brick mason and was a member of the Harmony Hall Baptist Church. Mr. Poole was preceded in death by a son, Ervin Clinton Poole, sister, Betty Golembiewski.

Survivors include wife, Mildred Ann Merck Poole of Gillsville, sons, Lamar Keith (Debra) Poole of Royston, Kelly Joe (Angela) Poole of Crocker, Missouri, Daniel Clay (Teresa) Poole of Gainesville, Mark Corey (Jennifer) Poole of Gainesville, daughters, Peggy (Danny) Smith of Gainesville, Patty (Tony) Cook of Gainesville, Nancy Allen of Gillsville, Mary (Allan) Carlyle of Maysville; brothers, Rev. M.A. Poole of Gainesville, Harry Lee Poole of Texas, Earl Gene Poole of Gainesville, Jerry Poole of Gwinnett; sisters Frances House & Kathleen Sullivan both of Gainesville; 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 8, 2019 at the Harmony Hall Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Merck, Rev. Terry Poole officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. John Kinsey Officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 Monday Oct. 7, 2019 at the funeral home.
