Shelton Merritt III

Shelton Merritt III, age 69, of Sautee-Nacoochee, passed away on Monday, September 30^th, 2019.  

He was born on September 9^th, 1950 and is survived by his mother, Maryalice Sly and two sisters, Jo Cedola and Judith Gessleman. Shelton worked as a police officer and homicide detective in Miami-Dade for over twenty years and retired to a peaceful cabin in Georgia. He was very well loved by friends and family, and always one for a good story.

Private services are being held with close family and friends.

The family would like to thank Carol Magness who ministered great love, kindness, and friendship during Shelton’s illness.
