Bobby Jean Scroggs Spinks

Bobby Jean Scroggs Spinks age 85 of Oakwood passed away Tuesday October 1, 2019 at the Gardens of Gainesville.

Mrs. Spinks was born July 5, 1934 in Gainesville to the late Paul Sr. & Pallie Hudgins Scroggs. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Art degree which lead to her career in education. She taught home economics at North Hall High School & she also taught at McEver Elementary. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan & a member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church in Gainesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Spinks.

Survivors include her children & spouses, John & Jill Spinks of Oakwood, Jasen & Claudia Spinks of Gainesville, brother& sister in law, Paul Jr. & Rebecca Scroggs of Oakwood, granddaughter, Regan Spinks.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday Oct. 5, 2019 at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Carpenter, Rev. Matthew Vandegriff & Rev. John Spinks officiating. Burial will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 Friday Oct. 4, 2019 at the funeral home.
