James Douglas Thomason

 James Douglas “Doug” Thomason, age 76 of Lawrenceville, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.

            Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Drewery Loggins officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 3:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.

            Mr. Thomason was born April 2, 1943 in Clarkesville, Georgia to James L. Thomason and Sara Helen (Laprade) Thomason. He was retired from Lockheed Martin and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Thomason was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bobby Joe Thomason (Martha) and Calvin Edward Thomason.

            Mr. Thomason is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Madeline Thomason of Lawrenceville; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Lynn Webb (Teddy) of Braselton; daughter and son-in-law, Angela Denise Pennywitt (Rodney) of Hoschton; grandchildren, Michael B. Pennywitt (Jaclyn); Scott A. Pennywitt; Christina Nicole Bull (Frankie); great-grandchildren, Zachary Pennywitt; Cody Pennywitt and Grayson Bull; sisters, Lisa Hall of Toccoa and Lauris Gunner of Toccoa; brother, Stevie Thomason of Toccoa; sister-in-law, Linda Thomason of Toccoa and a number of nieces and nephews.
