Josephine Cheek Scott

Mrs. Josephine Cheek Scott, age 96 of Falls Road, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.

A daughter of the late John and Blanche Langford Cheek, she was born December 10, 1922 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was employed with Coats and Clark for a number of years and was a member of Toccoa Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Jackson Scott, six brothers and by a grandson, Billy Eugene Scott.

Survivors include two sons, James Scott and Wayne Scott both of Toccoa; three grandchildren, Angela Scott, Sheila Scott and Jamey Scott; four great-grandchildren, Gracie Rogers, Benjamin Rogers, Amelia Scott and Micah Scott; two brothers, Ralph Cheek of Toccoa and Carl Cheek of Aiken, South Carolina; two sisters, Julia Williams of Martin and Betty Jordan of Creola, Alabama.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 28, 2019, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Joey Whitlock officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and should assemble at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m., Jamey Scott, Bryan Westmoreland, Frank Coker, Wayne Scott, David Smith and Lonzo York.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Josephine Cheek Scott.
