John R. Sims

Mr. John R. Sims, age 96, of Gillsville died Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at his residence.  Mr. Sims was born in Robertstown, GA to the late, Ned and Bessie Brock Sims.  Mr. Sims was a retired poultry farmer, carpenter, and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Sims was also preceded in death by his wife, Annie Reed Sims.

Mr. Sims is survived by his daughters, Joyce Miller of Gillsville and Janice Hulsey of Lula; son, Nathan Sims of Gillsville; brothers, Eugene Sims, George Sims, and Jackie Sims all of Gillsville; sister, Lois Loggins of Nicholson; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 27^th at 2:00 PM from Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Pirkle and Rev. Jamie Smith officiating with the interment following in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 6-9 PM.
