Harry Garner

Harry Douglas Garner, age 82, of Buford, GA passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019. He was preceded in death by parents, Willard and Annie Mae Brooks Garner of Hampshire, TN. Mr. Garner is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Patricia Cheatham Garner, Buford; son, Dr. Harry Douglas Garner, Jr. and wife, Natalie, Suwanee, GA; granddaughter, Hannah Grace Garner, Suwanee, GA; brother, Don (Sue) Garner, Hampshire, TN; brother-in-law, Granville (Mary) Cheatham, Columbia, TN; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Garner was born on April 27, 1937 in Columbia, TN. He was a 1955 graduate of Hampshire High School in Hampshire, TN. Mr. Garner was retired from Union Carbide Company as department clerk after thirty-six years of service. He was a member of Buford Church of Christ and formerly a member of Cedar Hill Church of Christ. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Buford Church of Christ with Pastor Stan Butt officiating. Mr. Garner will lie in state at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, TN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cedar Hill Cemetery Fund, 6568 TN-76, Cedar Hill, TN 37032.
