Janelle B. Black, age 78, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
Mrs. Black was born on June 22, 1941, in Gainesville, Georgia, to the late Henry F. Barrett Sr. and Nell Gorman. Janelle was a graduate of White County High School and attended Truett McConnell College. She was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed singing as a member of the Clevelanettes, and also traveled the world.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Black; son and friend, Byron L. Black and Katharine Fraser; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Craig Decker; sister and brother-in-law, Carol Ann and M.L.J. (Jack) Crawford brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry (Pete) and Hazel Barrett, John Edward (Tim) and Katherine Barrett; brothers-in-law and wives, Wiley S. and Judy Black, Jesse M and Alyce Black, E. Ray and Ruth Black; sister-in-law, Rosalie Montes; sister-in-law and husband, Betty and Edward Nix.
Private graveside services for family are planned at Yonah View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
