Vicki Gilmer

Vicki Gilmer, age 87 of Gainesville Georgia, went to be with her Lord on Sunday September 22^nd 2019.   She was born in Maysville Georgia to the late Thomas Blain & Iva Lee Sims.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Hearl Charles (Ducky) Gilmer, her brother Ezra Sims, Sisters Willie Mae (Bill) Chrisler, Clifford Paulin (Polly) Smith & Alma Ayers.

She is survived by her children Garry Charles (Jean) Gilmer, Anthony Reece (Patti) Gilmer, Iris Laverne (Tim) Tritt, Timothy Keith (Muffin) Gilmer.  Grandchildren, Caleb (Jessica) Gilmer, Gerran (James) Syfan, Leah Tritt, Landon Tritt, Blayne (Jordan) Gilmer, Eli (Madi) Gilmer.  Great Grandchildren, Wren, Dalton & Damon Gilmer, Lily Reece Syfan, Maverick & Stetson Gilmer.  Sister-in-law Helen Burrell.

Her happiest hours were spent surrounded by her family.  These gatherings always included singing with her children and lots of love and laughter.  She cherished the opportunity to sing praises to her Savior and shared her beautiful voice that He blessed her with, often at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she was a member.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24^th from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 at Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Baker officiating.

Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
