Margaret Deegan

Margaret Joan Skvasik Deegan, age 86, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Skvasik; sister, Mary Skvasik Hicko; and husband of 38 years, John Patrick Deegan. Margaret is survived by daughters, Patricia Ann (Douglas) McDowell of Nashville, TN and Margaret Joan (Randy) Gilbert of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Margaret McDowell of New Orleans, LA and Catherine McDowell of Atlanta, GA; sister, Ann Hicko of Pacific Palisades, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Margaret was born on December 21, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ.  She was a 1950 graduate of Lincoln High School and attended Katharine Gibbs School in New York. After several years working as Executive Assistant to the President of Reynolds Securities, she retired to raise her two daughters. She later returned to a career in Human Resources with Citicorp and McKesson in Atlanta. Margaret was an avid reader, enjoyed the beach, but above all, treasured her family, especially her two granddaughters. She was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Sandy Springs, GA.  A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 24 at Flanigan Funeral Home.
