Linda Gail “Nanny” Cowart

Linda Gail “Nanny” Cowart, age 71, of Cumming, GA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Linda was born in Forsyth County in 1948, to the late Marcus and Imogene Waters. She was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. Linda worked for Forsyth County Health Department for over 25 years. Nanny was one of the nation’s best biscuit makers and loved her family to the fullest. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Scott Kirby. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Franklin Cowart; daughters, Ronda (Butch) Kirk, and Teresa (Allen) Dixon; grandchildren, Jonathan (Erin) Kirby; Crysta Kirby with fiancé Robert Eldridge, Jacob Kirk with fiancé Emily Truitt, Hanna Kirby, and Molly Kirk; great granddaughter, Aniston Kirby; brothers, Ronnie (Delia) Waters, Michael Waters, and Jimmy Waters; brother-in-law, Billy Cowart; sister-in-law, Hazel (Wayne) McCurley; several nieces, nephews, and a multitude of family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cowart will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Craig Richard, Rev. Jonathan Kirby, Rev. Butch Kirk, and Rev. Ricky Waters officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Garden in Cumming, GA.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
